“I’m coming to the end of my ballet journey. I feel that I have so much more to give as a dancer but I have sacrificed my mental health for far too long now. I was emotionally abused by teachers throughout my childhood. I have carried the trauma with me throughout my training I have developed severe anxiety and have been through bouts of depression and have also developed PTSD symptoms.

I have had to work with a therapist so that I can come to terms with the trauma and to finally heal from the pain. I am devastated to have to leave the industry right before the peak of my career due to individuals abusing their power. I started ballet as a confident happy little girl and I am leaving absolutely broken.”
